We are thrilled to share an exciting new activity that has captured the attention and imagination of our Kookaburras children. What started from using a variety of craft materials and designing our very own jewellery collection, to now using alphabet beads for the children to create their very own name ‘friendship’ bracelet.

The experience of threading these beads onto a string not only promotes fine motor skills but also encourages concentration and persistence. We were amazed to see some children engrossed in this activity for a lengthy period of time, carefully selecting each letter and threading them onto their bracelets with determination.

At Inspired, we are often asked, does my child need to write their own name when in Kindergarten.. the short answer is whilst children are provided the opportunity to discover pre-writing skills, many children are not developmentally ready to do so.

Our goal is to provide children with the opportunity to develop pre-writing skills from recognising letters in their name, identifying their own items through the use of name labels and locker tags and developing confident fine-motor skills through play.
