Each year, Australians come together during the first week of July to celebrate NAIDOC Week, an important national event that recognises the history, culture, and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.

This year, our children and Educators participated in a range of engaging experiences and activities to commemorate NAIDOC Week. Children had the opportunity to explore Aboriginal art and traditions, including creating “The Rainbow Serpent” paintings, crafting boomerangs using natural resources, exploring the patterns and symbols, sculpting clay echidnas, and producing dot paintings and drawings.

Exposing children to diverse cultural practices plays a vital role in fostering respect, understanding, and a sense of community. By engaging with Indigenous art, stories, and customs, young children gain a deeper appreciation for the rich heritage that has shaped our nation.

At Inspired we plan specific learning experiences through our termly curriculum to celebrate the enduring contributions of Australia’s First Nations peoples and promote reconciliation and inclusivity within our community.
