Our Inspired learning environment is recognised for its potential to spark imagination, provoke curiosity, support collaboration and nurture relationships. We offer a variety of play spaces for children to explore. Through encounters with a wide range of media and materials, children become more skilled and begin to use the materials to communicate or represent their understandings, emotions, discoveries, and interests.
We pride ourselves in having aesthetically pleasing learning spaces, filled with natural light and materials. We believe the environment is the third teacher – our learning environments are meaningful and designed to stimulate children’s imagination, creativity, exploration, discovery, engagement, and sense of wonder.
Our educational environment incorporates six (6) different learning spaces for children to feel safe and supported.
Children aged 6 weeks old – 12 months of age
Our Possums room is an intimate room built on security and curiosity. Our educating team aim to build secure and meaningful relationships with your child and family. We believe communication is the foundation of our strong relationships we have with our families. For children under 1 year of age much of life’s experiences are a first so it is important that compassion and gentleness are the cornerstones of developmental guidance in our Possum Room.
Our Educating team work in partnership with families to offer a flexible routine based on the needs of the individual child, this includes the introduction of first solids through to age appropriate meals which are catered for at Inspired. Our Educators offer endless opportunities for children to discover through their senses using sight, smell, sound, touch, and taste to develop their understanding of the world. We aim to support children to learn to trust and feel confident.
At Inspired, our Possums environment incorporates the use of natural materials with a focus on sensory play areas, where children are encouraged to explore their environment with confidence and excitement. Attached to our educational play space, is a dedicated sleep room, our children are provided with a relaxing and comforting environment with soft materials, bedding, and lighting.
“Play gives children a chance to practice what they are learning”.
Children aged 1 year old – 2 years of age.
At Inspired, we understand that each child and each family is unique, together we work in partnership with your family to design a curriculum that reflects the different cultures and supports each child’s strengths, developmental needs and interests.
In our Echidnas room we understand the importance of relationships. Our Educators ensure all children’s needs are met and to create a welcoming, cheerful, and family centred atmosphere where the children feel confident to explore their environment.
Our Echidnas room is an area that supports meaningful opportunities for socialising with peers, and a communication rich environment with our Educators using expressive language constantly though the children’s programs. It is an environment where art, creativity and aesthetic motion are encouraged.
Much like in our Possums room our Echidnas strive to build secure attachments with our young children as this is paramount to the success of their future development and is also considered a very consistent and safe environment.
Our educational environment invites your child to engage in play-based experiences with a flexible daily routine. We encourage our families to share their feedback, ideas, resources and skills to help enrich our curriculum at Inspired.
“At the end of the day, your feet should be dirty, your hair messy, and your eyes sparkling”.
Children aged 2 years old – 2.5 years of age
Our Koalas room believe in a holistic approach to education. One that recognises each child’s individual identity, meaning and purpose in life through connections to the community and to the natural world. Play is a means for exploration of the world for a child. Children use play to make meaning and connections.
Our children begin to learn that they are capable of simple self-help skills. Through educators supporting serving their own meals, dressing, undressing and toileting.
We provide an environment that is welcoming, reassuring and fun, where children feel valued and respected through positive interactions and expectations and are provided an environment that is aesthetically pleasing and offers a wide variety of learning experiences.
Our Koala children will be encouraged and supported to explore self-help skills, including dressing self, serving of own meals and toilet training. A strong focus of our curriculum is to empower children to communicate with verbal and non-verbal language, whilst developing empathy and respect of others, and most importantly the confidence to explore endless play, that is child-led.
“Play gives children an outlet to express their emotions and feelings and helps them to develop a sense of who they are”
Children aged 2.5 years of age – 3 years old.
Our Emus children are widening the world in which they explore, and our curriculum is designed to support and nurture your child’s development with their social skills, self-awareness and respect for others.
Our Emus begin to investigate values such as compassion and friendships. Our educators will foster a holistic education which draws on each child’s individuality and their intrinsic wonder for learning.
Our Educators will encourage children to seek greater independence and develop their resilience, self-confidence, a positive self-esteem, to be respected for who they are and to show respect for others, developing their skills in being socially inclusive and being considerate of others.
The flexible curriculum helps to develop your child’s verbal communication skills, whilst enabling children to develop their own character and personality in an environment that reflects the children’s voices, interests and development. Our Emus will be introduced to many different sensory play activities, experimenting with paint, glue, scissors, clay, sand, water and goop, this supports children to further develop their motor skills.
Outdoors, our Emu children will experience learning and play with our 3 and 4 year old children, during this time their skills, abilities and interests will be challenged and inspired.
“It’s the things we play with and the people who help us play that make a great difference in our lives”
Kindergarten children aged 3 years old – 4 years of age
In our Kookaburras room we believe in supporting children in developing a strong sense of belonging and to feel safe and secure in their environment, to become active participants in their learning and to follow and extend on their interests. All children are unique and individual, as are their abilities.
At Inspired, our 3 year old Kindergarten curriculum has a strong emphasis on teaching children self-help skills, expectations, and empathy. This encourages children to discover and explore respect, compassion and supporting children to express their thoughts and ideas to become confident and resilient individuals.
Our Educators support and encourage each child to challenge themselves, apply problem solving strategies and to persevere at tasks. In the establishment of our curriculum, we encourage the children to follow their own interests, ideas, and creativity. We believe for children to learn and develop our curriculum is equipped with open-ended and natural resources where children are challenged to explore, investigate and discover. Our Kookaburras children are the decision makers and co-constructors of the curriculum.
Throughout the year children are invited to participate in a variety of incursions and excursions, including wildlife encounters, science incursions and excursions within our local community. It is these experiences that enable children to further their individual learning and understanding, whilst developing an appreciation for the world in we live and the place we hold in it.
